Ozarks Distributing $3M in Capital Credits

Ozarks Electric Cooperative

Ozarks Electric Cooperative is returning $3 million in capital credits to our members this year.

As a not-for-profit cooperative, we operate at cost. Any revenue remaining after expenses is returned back to you, our members. That means money in your pocket instead of profits distributed to shareholders. It’s one of the key benefits of cooperative membership.

Capital credits are assigned based on the amount of electricity you use during the year. If your refund is under $20, it will appear as a credit on your upcoming electric bill. If your refund is over $20, you will receive a check in the mail after March 26.

Capital credits represent your share in the cooperative. When financial conditions allow, our board of directors elects to distribute or retire a portion of those capital credits to our membership.  With this year’s distribution, we will have returned more than $62 million to our membership.

Please watch for your refund coming soon. It’s just one of the many ways we put our members first. We thank you for being a valued member of Ozarks Electric and appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
